Background<\/span><\/strong><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a02024 Partnership Forum of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC)<\/span><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0will be held on Tuesday,\u00a0<\/span>30\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>January 2024<\/span><\/strong>, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm (EST), at the United Nations Headquarters in New York under the theme of \u201cReinforcing the 2030 Agenda and eradicating poverty in times of multiple crises: the effective delivery of sustainable, resilient and innovative solutions<\/span><\/em>\u201d. The Forum will place a special emphasis on the Sustainable Development Goals that will be reviewed at the 2024 HLPF, namely Goal 1 (no poverty); Goal 2 (zero hunger); Goal 13 (climate action); Goal 16 (peace and justice); and Goal 17 (partnership for the Goals).<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

In accordance with resolution\u00a075\/290A<\/a>, the 2024 ECOSOC Partnership Forum will be focused on the exchange of new ideas, expectations and priorities for the work ahead for ECOSOC and the HLPF on the aforementioned theme. It will showcase and discuss forward-looking actions by countries and all relevant stakeholders through innovative partnerships that can mobilize commitments and actions to advance the 2030 Agenda and address new challenges.\u00a0\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking Slots \u2013 Stakeholders<\/span><\/strong><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Time permitting, official representatives from non-governmental organizations\u00a0in consultative status with ECOSOC\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>will be invited to\u00a0make short oral statements<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0on the main theme of the Forum during the plenary session (10:30AM – 1:00 PM<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0–\u00a0in person only\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>at UNHQ in New York).\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Considering the limited number of speaking slots, preference will be given to statements that are delivered\u00a0on behalf of groups of organizations<\/span><\/strong>, including major groups and other stakeholder constituencies.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Only one request per organization will be considered<\/span><\/strong>.<\/span><\/strong><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Official representatives from non-governmental organizations\u00a0in consultative status with ECOSOC<\/span><\/strong>, who are interested in being considered for a speaking slot during the plenary Session of the 2024 ECOSOC Partnership Forum should register using\u00a0this form<\/a>. Please, note that proposed speakers must be<\/span>\u00a0in person<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0in New York to be considered for a speaking slot.\u00a0<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
